SEVENTH CRITIQUE OF KWAMENA AHWOI’S WORKING WITH RAWLINGS
The processes culminating in finally accepting the offer to be the running mate to Professor Mills and the formal confirmation of the nomination by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NDC the same night, demonstrates beyond any doubt that the assertion that a cohort of puppet masters of Vice President Mills to whom the author belonged calculatingly dangled before Martin Amidu a running mate bait which he excitedly swallowed, was and is a pernicious falsehood. The reasons assigned to Ghanaians by Professor Mills for identifying and nominating his running mate also negates the bait dangling fabrications of the author who holds himself out as a Professor of Law.
SIXTH CRITIQUE OF KWAMENA AWHOI’S WORKING WITH RAWLINGS
Kwamena Ahwoi became so addicted to concocting the data for Working with Rawlings that he had to continue doing so, and to fabricate the choice of Martin Amidu, my poor self, as Professor Mills’ running mate not only as a surprise choice but as a bait which Martin Amidu excitedly swallowed. I intend to demonstrate that Kwamena Ahwoi fabricated the data giving rise to his shoddy narratives by stating how I came to reluctantly accept to be Professor Mills’ running mate on 3 September 2000
FIFTH CRITIQUE OF KWAMENA AHWOI’S WORKING WITH RAWLINGS
The real intention of the author, Kwamena Ahwoi, was to paint President Rawlings as an autocrat who did not brook dissent from even his vice president such that Professor Mills was so terrified or afraid of him to engage in a one-on-one discussion with him on the reasons for not accepting Dr. Asamoah as the vice- presidential candidate. The author ended up conveying a picture of Professor Mills as not being his own man. Kwamena Ahwoi was, therefore, solely responsible for the derogatory words – “Mills-Rawlings’ Poodle” and “Vote Mills, Ge JJ free” - that the opponents of the NDC used to describe Professor Mills after his acceptance speech at his Ho coronation.
FOURTH CRITIQUE OF KWAMENA AHWOI’S WORKING WITH RAWLINGS
The author, Kwamena Ahwoi, tried to use Working with Rawlings to re-write the history of the events of the period to distance his cohort of puppet masters and him from the decision by the NDC to endorse and acclaim Professor Mills as the NDC’s presidential candidate for the 2000 election. Consequently, he constructed his narrative of the events in such a manner as to make his cohort of puppet masters of Professor Mills and he to emerge the heroes of those two difficult years while President Rawlings’ wife and Rawlings together with others were cast as the villains.
THIRD CRITIQUE OF KWAMENA AHWOI’S WORKING WITH RAWLINGS
Kwamena Ahwoi’s statement that President Rawlings went behind the author as the Minister for Local Government “and directly ordered Mr. Ishmael Ayittey (sic) to sign the contract. Mr. Ayittey (sic) did.”, is a big, irredeemable, and unpardonable lie. The narrative events fabricated by the Professor of Law don’t support facts and evidence. Mr. Ishmael Ayeetey was nowhere near the AMA as its MCE when the author alleges that President Rawlings directly ordered Mr. Ayeetey to sign the contract. Understandable that the author, Kwamena Ahwoi, could not have had the ability to practice the profession of law as rightly determined by the UK Inns of Courts and General Legal Council of Ghana.
AL JAZEERA GOLD MAFIA DOCUMENTARY - AKUFO-ADDO REAPS WHAT HE SOWED
The Government’s attempt to escape investigation for suspected corruption arising from the Gold Mafia documentary and confessions of Alistair Mathias, the President’s good friend, through the side door of a purported threat of a defamation action is arbitrary, lacks candor, and constitutes a blatant abuse of the powers of Government under the Constitution. It is too late in the day for the President to be allowed to run away from consequences of his own endorsement of the “Anas Principle” [you may never know that the person you are giving the bribe to or receiving it from may be an undercover agent]. Nana Addo is now reaping what he sowed.
NEW CHIEF JUSTICE – LAST THREE STOPS OF AKUFO-ADDO’S ELECTION LONG GAME
Nana Akufo-Addo’s long game was borne out of an agenda he conceived after his narrow defeat at the 2008 presidential elections with Dr. Bawumia as his running mate, and the lack of a long game by Mr. J. A. Kufour to have ensured a victorious outcome at all costs. Never again must that happen under Nana Akufo-Addo’s watch as President of Ghana. While Kufour exhibited better traits of a constitutionalist and democrat during his tenure as President, Nana Akufo-Addo has shown himself to be an autocrat working with the letter of the Constitution but subverting its spirit and core structural principles or doctrines.
AKUFO-ADDO DOESN’T DENY FRIENDSHIP WITH KINGPIN ALISTAIR MATHIAS
President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, did not deny being Alistair Mathias’ friend in his response to Al Jazeera’s request for his comments. The argument that Nana Addo could not have been Mathias’ lawyer when the president himself does not remember, is spurious and diversionary. Nana Addo is an admitted friend of the alleged kingpin gold smuggler and money launderer for gold deals. Period! Befriending a criminal gang member and/or financial architects is typical of previous conduct of the President of Ghana.
3 NEW E.C. APPOINTMENTS - WE EMBOLDENED AKUFO-ADDO TO DISREGARD CONSTITUTION
Nana Akufo-Addo would not have abused the spirit of Chapter Seven (7) of the 1992 Constitution on the sanctity of the right to vote and the Electoral Commission if We the People had not in the past five and half years condoned the Government’s several abuses of power and impunity. By failing to act to defend our Constitution, we emboldened him to ignore the views of the majority of citizens and to do as he pleases. But all is not lost. Nature has its own way of dispensing justice to humanity
SCANDALIZING THE COURT IS DANGEROUS FOR GHANA’S DEMOCRACY
Those who aspire to genuinely crusade against corruption as investigative journalists, and to lead this nation in the exercise of the executive power ought to show an example in upholding the integrity of the judicial process instead of lending their voices to the cohorts of a losing party to scandalize and bring the administration of justice into disrepute. Remember, there is abundant documentary and other evidence of who created and facilitated Anas A. Anas’s rise as an anti-corruption entrepreneur and a covert political agent with unaccountable privileges.
SECOND CRITIQUE OF KWAMENA AHWOI’S WORKING WITH RAWLINGS
President Rawlings had only one term left if he won the 1996 election, which the NDC was confident he was going to win whosoever became his running mate. The transition to an NDC Government in the future without Rawlings began with the nomination of Professor Mills as Rawlings’ running mate. The Ahwois hedged their bets as the main pillars behind Professor Mills’ Vice Presidency and his future. Rawlings’ trust in his comrades blinded him from seeing the double agency in the behaviour of the Ahwois. The “Ahwoi Capture” of Professor Mills that will affect and influence the future relationship between President Rawlings and Professor Mills had begun.
FIRST CRITIQUE OF KWAMENA AHWOI’S WORKING WITH RAWLINGS
A content analysis of the author’s chapter 4 reveals he had to doctor facts and available data to conclude that before the NCD submitted its “Evolving a True Democracy” report to the PNDC “no options were foreclosed”: “The foreclosure only came with the presentation of the NCD report to the PNDC which came down cautiously in favour of multi-party democracy”. Without inversing the facts and straining old data contained in a 4th March 1985 press statement to establish a lack of foreclosure in spite of the PNDC Chairman’s January 1991 New Year broadcast to the Nation, the author could not claim credit for his ingenious role in guiding the PNDC to the path of multi-party democracy in Ghana
PDF OF PETITION TO KEEPERS OF PUBLIC PURSE ON IRREGULAR APPOINTMENTS
A PDF copy of my letter to the Minister of Finance, the Auditor-General, the Accountant-General, and the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament reproduced above as part of this rejoinder to demonstrate that the Government could not and cannot in the name of fighting corruption have paid any salary to any of the cronies and friends corruptly and unlawfully recruited and promoted by the OSP contrary to the 1992 Constitution. The reason the OSP relied on seconded staff under my tenure is fully explained in my petition to the Chairman of the Public Services Commission.
PDF OF PETITION TO CHAIRMAN OF PUBLIC SERVICES COMMISSION
A PDF copy of my petition dated 31 August 2022 to the Chairman of the Public Services Commission, reproduced above as part of this rejoinder to demonstrate that the Government could not and cannot in the name of fighting corruption have paid any salary to any of the cronies and friends corruptly and unlawfully recruited and promoted by the OSP contrary to the 1992 Constitution.
REJOINDER: SPECIAL PROSECUTOR YET TO RECEIVE SALARY
We do the public a great disservice when we accuse or indict the Government for not facilitating the fight against corruption when the fault lies squarely with an Office which has gone rogue under a Special Prosecutor who acts corruptly in violation of Article 195 the 1992 Constitution and Section 21 of Act 959. It is only a corrupt OSP that will encourage the media to call the Government a bad name just to hang it when the culprit is the OSP itself. Where is integrity in the fight against corruption? Caesar’s wife must be above suspicion.
NDC CHAIRMANSHIP ELECTION - MERIT OR TRIBALISM?
The ethnic and tribal element being introduced in the Chairmanship election of the NDC is a dangerous development that does great damage to the image of the late President Jerry John Rawlings and the late Mr. Justice D. F. Annan a few days before the celebration of the ideals of the 31st December Revolution. It can only aid Nana Akufo-Addo’s long game for Election 2024 to install his preferred candidate as President of Ghana on 7 January 2025. We founded the NDC in 1992 for the grassroots citizen. Do not betray the people and the 31st December Revolutionary cause.
GAMES IN PARLIAMENT – SPEAKER AND MINORITY MOTION OF CENSURE
The contradictory conduct of the Speaker in his rulings on 25 October 2022 and 10 November 2022 has demonstrated the need for patriotic citizens to remain ever vigilant in a split parliament in which the Speaker exhibits traits of being transactional and arrogates to himself powers and authorities not conferred upon him by the Constitution and/or Standing Orders of Parliament. This conduct of the Speaker underscores the urgency with which patriotic citizens must be ever watchful of every step and pronouncement by the Speaker of Parliament.
PRESIDENT OF GHANA STRAINS GNAT OF CORRUPTION BUT SWALLOWS CAMEL
This examination and analysis of the “Galamsey Economy” documentary provide citizens with the materials to see beyond the stunts and swindles that the Presidency, and Anas Aremeyaw Anas with his Tiger Eye PI, tried to pull over the public, and reveals the motives of political self-interest underpinning each stunt and hoax undertaken by them. Citizens are also provided with the materials with which to have the courage to defend and protect the 1992 Constitution from scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, like the President and the Vice President who lied their way to the Presidency only to strain a gnat but swallow a camel.
REMEMBERING LATE COMRADE AND PRESIDENT, JERRY JOHN RAWLINGS
Our late Comrade and President Rawlings, the people of this country whom you loved so much and died for have been led into an economic mess, suffering, and poverty which is worse than what led you to risk your life to save this country and give it a viable constitution that has lasted for three decades.
PARLIAMENT AND POLITICS OF SURVIVAL AMID ULTIMATUMS AND CENSURE
Elected members of parliament are sacrificing the national good of our country for their personal selfishness and partisan interest, contravening the letter and spirit of the 1992 Constitution. Their actions are the sole reason why for some time now, “Everyday things are getting worse” for the economic and social survival of ordinary Ghanaians. The selfish economic and political power motives underpinning the divergent positions and tactics that both sides of the House used to remove two ministers from office demonstrate to Ghanaians that these members of parliament cannot be relied upon to fight for what our citizens need.
